Yellowstone National Park!

Image
We made it to Yellowstone today! Signal is spotty here so I am a day late posting on the blog. Hopefully I can get this posted. We are halfway through our West Fest. We headed straight for the geyser area. The colors in these pools are created by the different minerals and microorganisms that live in them. I tried to capture them, but not sure of I did them justice. Then of course, we saw Old Faithful!  She was a few minutes early, but I got her on video and took some great shots! The sun was perfect and cast a nice glint in the sky. Old Faithful erupting Today we got up REALLY early and drove to Lamar Valley. It was a beautiful drive and we saw a bunch of wildlife.  A couple of buffalo decided to share the road with us. We then drove to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and saw the different waterfalls from several view points.  On the lookout at the top of the waterfall, there were several rainbows that could be seen as the water roared ov...

Glacier National Park take two! Going to the sun road!!!

Since I have to wait for some laundry to dry, I'm going to add a few more pictures.  We drove on "Going to the sun Road" which starts east in St. Mary's and goes west to Lake MacDonald.  We actually pass the Continental Divide! How cool is that?!!!! On one part of the road, there were waterfalls falling onto the road.  Trish enjoyed getting wet and was giggling pretty hard which got us all laughing. People were driving while standing up through the sunroof, not wanting to miss any of the photo opportunities!  Another part of the road was so narrow that John had to turn the side mirror in so it wouldn't scrape. We stopped so many times that we were going the same speed that I run...between 5 and 6 miles an hour!  But it was so beautiful that we stopped at almost all of the pull offs...and there was a boat load. Curtis even put a sign on the back window! There was a tunnel that we drove through.   We ran into some snow and watched ki...

The drive was well worth it!

We finally made it to Glacier National Park! Curtis and I have been anticipating this part of the trip! I'm not writing a lot.  I'll let the pictures speak for me...a picture is worth a thousand words...but even these pictures don't do this awesome scenery justice!  I'm going post some of the panoramic pictures I shot today. This last panoramic is one I took while on a boat ride on Lake MacDonald.   I have so many pictures that it's hard to pick.  So I will close with Happy Fourth of July and thank you to all of our veterans who have served and are serving! We could not enjoy this beautiful country without your selfless duty to protect it! What a great way to celebrate our independence!
