First cruise, day two: Seattle, Washington

Image
We played tourist today and enjoyed the sights of Seattle. I love Seattle especially the Pike Place Market. John and I left our spouses on the ground and rode the Ferris Wheel, which is really an observatory. The views were great! We then ate at Athenien. It was located at the Seattle Pier area. The clam chowder and fish tacos were really good. We also decided to take a cruise on the Argosy. It was an hour cruise around the harbor with a guide giving commentary on the Seattle area. Last, but definitely not least, my brother and his wife met us for dinner. I got to meet and hold my nephew!  That was the best part of my day! Tomorrow: Explorer of the Seas! I'm so excited!

First cruise, Day one

Image
We are finally on our way! It's been hard to get excited because a lot is going on between family and work.  I kind of feel guilty for going on vacation. Aside from major illness or natural disaster, there's no canceling now. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Papadeaux's at DFW airport. We will get into Seattle late so we decided to have a decent meal. Our waittress was super sweet and friendly. Our seafood salads were delicious, although I'm sure not as delicious as the seafood in Seattle or on the cruise.  I'm looking forward to walking around Pike Place Fish Market and enjoying Seattle.  Best of all, I get to meet my nephew! I probably won't post his picture but trust me when I say he's super cute! I'm getting excited now that we are on our last leg. Tomorrow...Seattle!

Catching up on our Maine Trip in 2016

Image
Ok.  I'm trying to catch up on my trips.  We took a few in 2016.  I figured I better get them on the blog before I start our Alaska trip! So let's take a step back in time to 2016...June to be exact. My sister invited us to go to Maine with her and her husband for a week.  How could we say no?!  She booked a beach house in Saco, Maine. It was such a relaxing, fun trip.  My sister and I rarely get away together, so this was a real treat! This was the beach house that we stayed in. It was very beautiful inside.  The beach was gorgeous...the water cold...at first...then interestingly, as you walked in a little deeper...it wasn't as cold. Like my blue toes?   View from master bedroom window. My sister insisted that we take the master bedroom.  The view was so peaceful.  At 4:30 every morning, the sun would come out and I would be up...not tired at all.  I felt very rested the entire week even though ...
