We walked down the hill to Ponte Vecchio and enjoyed my first real Italian pizza.  I loved it. We ordered one with mushrooms  and prosciutto. Delicious!  Then we wandered around and went to the Duomo and bought chocolate at the chocolate craft fair we found. What a way to spend the afternoon!

Curtis suggested that I do one last blog with the trip statistics.  So here are the numbers. 16 days on the road 15 nights in a hotel 14 states we traveled through 8 times we crossed the Continental Divide 3 National Monuments 4 National Parks 1 privately Held Monument 8 museums 8 times we crossed the Missouri River ------------------------------- = 5424 total miles traveled On a funny note: the service light came on as we were traveling on I-565, about 15 miles from home, indicating that the oil needed to be changed. After the fiasco with Enterprise about the mini-van, or lack of one even though John reserved it several months ago, we all felt vindicated. We also brought back so many dead bugs plastered to the front of the Tahoe that it may take several car washings to get them off! Happy Birthday, America!

We had a staycation at Monte Sano State Park on the 4th of July weekend.  It's a beautiful park with a really nice RV campground, cabins and many trails to hike.  We try to come here a few times a year.  The campground is very wooded and well kept.  All of the staff are extremely nice and helpful also.  A lot of campers had elaborate red, white and blue decorations.  We forgot all of ours so we felt like scrooge.  But the campground looked great and very patriotic! Our 4th of July family camping trip has become a tradition with our boys and my daughter in law.  I love having my kids home.  Camping is a great way for us to be together and just enjoy each other and not worry about chores or anything else at home.  I look horrible in all of these pictures because, well, we're camping and I don't worry about hair or makeup. Day 16: Two Medicine and Plains Indians Museum

Two Medicine, Glacier National Park: We headed to the Two Medicine Entrance to Glacier on the east side.  There is a trail that Trish can do to some falls.  If you haven't noticed, there are quite a few falls around the park.  Curtis started saying "Trees, mountains, falls, rocks, weeds..." as a joke.  This trail wasn't as Trish friendly as the Swiftcurrent trail.  The gravel was really hard for Trish to maneuver through.  But she got to an open area where she could see the falls.  She stayed there and watched us being foolish, climbing all over the rocks. I didn't get in trouble for climbing all over the rocks.  I climbed up and over, down to the water. Have I said the water is REALLY cold?  The water is really, really cold!  I wanted to climb all the way to the top to see if a lake fed the waterfall, but I figured I'd get in trouble again.
