More pictures of Vatican City

I'm just going to post more pictures here. Curtis and I walked over 20,000 steps this day by the time we walked all the way back to the train station. It was a very tiring, very fulfilling day in Rome. But both of our feet were hurting by the time we got back to my sister's house in Florence.

The statues around the top of the square are Saints. The statues on the Basilica are Jesus and the Apostles.

These are the Swiss Guards. Their uniforms haven't changed from the time Michelangelo designed them. The guards have to be born in Sweden, at least 5 ft. 6 in and under 25 years of age when they join.

The picture below is us on the River Tiber crossing over back to Rome proper.
